The 2008 IUS/Canada Region conference continues the IUS's focus on the military and society. This year's conference presenters and panels explore the confluence of culture and military operations. Internationally, each academic discipline has developed theories, definitions and explanations related to culture and cultural intelligence that inform work in this domain, but few opportunities have occurred in Canada to compare and debate the merits of these, to examine how these either conflict with one another or are mutually supportive, or to assess whether concepts developed in other nations do or do not fit the Canadian context.

The conference organizers apologize for the compressed timelines available for obtaining preferred hotel rates and so forth, but circumstances were such that this was unavoidable.
